Nutrition and Your Puppy:

Why would you feed your pets less than human quality ingredients?

Life's Abundance uses fresh, natural, wholesome ingredients!

Chicken meal, fish meal, carrots, apples, spinach, celery, alfalfa meal, powerful antioxidants, live probiotics, and chelated minerals.

No chemicals, no fillers, nothing artificial. No wheat, gluten, corn or soy.

And has never been Recalled!!!!!

For our new puppy owners there is a great way to keep feeding Life's Abundance with the great starter kit we will give you at 8 weeks!

We have been feeding your puppies the best nutrition we have ever found-Life's Abundance or PawTree!

Before you come to pick up your puppy, you will need to have your auto-ship order in place for the following: Life’s Abundance XL Large Breed Puppy System.  To start with, you will need to set up your order on auto-ship for every 12 weeks...you can adjust these dates as your puppy matures.

Because 60% of all canine hip dysplasia is related to poor nutrition, we require that your precious puppy continue with the Life's Abundance Nutritional System for at-least the first 26 months of his/her life. In order to qualify for our Lifetime health guarantee, we require you to feed Lifes Abundance through their lifetime, as stated in our guarantee . Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Ordering from our site or the above quick links, are  how we track the new puppy owners purchases to ensure the guarantee stays valid for all the life of your dog!  So make sure to use this site or the hot links.

We recommend that you continue feeding your puppy the Large Breed Puppy Food, that we start them off on. After 4-10 months, depending on how your puppy is growing, you can then switch them to the All Life Stages System.

Once you make the switch from Puppy to All Stages, make sure you click on the XL All life Stages System ($110) and click Autoship.  Set autoship to 16 wks.  Thus, costing you less than $30 a month to feed.  You will get 40lb bag and 2 bottles of wellness supplements!

I also highly recommend:

·        16oz Training Treats

·        Lg Antioxidant Bars

·        3 pkg Porky Puffs

·        3 pkg Bully Sticks

Our goal is to provide you the most superior pup possible in the best of health so that you can enjoy his companionship and love for MANY years to come!

When your lab pup is full grown, he/she will go through a 40# bag about every 2 months, making your monthly cost right around $37 per month to feed your precious family member the very best.

We also highly recommend PawTree and have started feeding this to some of our dogs. They have the same quality and safety that LA does. They offer many other products like toys, food seasoning, gastro pro plus, allergy support, and Chillax! Which Chillax I would highly recommend to get as the first few nights to a week with your new puppy is like having a newborn baby.

Some litters will go home on PawTree, some will go home on LA. For PawTree we will have you order the Puppy Starter Kit - For Large Breed Puppies. Feeding chart is the same for both foods.

If I can answer any other questions/concerns you may have, please NEVER hesitate to call/text me. I am available to answer any and all questions. Just like you, I had to ask questions with my first lab.

Labrador Retriever Breeder

These are some of the things that we recommend

FOOD and TREATS:

Life's Abundance puppy/dog food or Pawtree puppy/dog food (these are purchased online only)

All of the treats are from either company.

FEEDING:

I recommend twice a day feedings. Start with a little less than 3/4 cup morning and lunch and 1/2 cup for dinner at first. In 2 weeks, increase to 1/2 cup  more per day. Between 3-5 months your puppy should be getting 3- 3.5 cups total a day. Feed to ideal weight, not just what the bag says. High quality puppy food will keep them healthy, make his/her coat shiny, and control weight gain. (Labs should always have an indent near their hips when looking at them from above)

HEARTWORM/FLEA CONTROL:

Sentinel Spectrum (prevents heartworm, prevents and controls fleas, treats and controls tapeworm, whipworm, roundworm, and hookworm) $120 for a 12 month supply. If you choose to use heartworm meds. Heartguard is another one we recommend along with Advantix Multi. You need to be aware of what is in your area. In RI we had Lyme. Kansas we did not have Lyme. WV we had lyme. TN there is no lyme but fleas and heartworms are especially bad here. Talk to your vet and find the right medication for your dog.

Advantage Multi is another great option. If your vet offers Proheart for heartworms and all worms I would highly suggest getting the shot, it lasts for 6 months.

Apple Cider Vinegar in their water

PET SUPPLIES:

Doctors Foster and Smith (online site that you can purchase just about anything for your dog! Shipping is free if you spend $50)

Revival Animal Health (Free shipping on orders of $99 or more)

Petco (if you need something quick)

Elevated dog beds are excellent for their hips and joints, while also keeping them off the ground and cooler. For years we have used Elevated dog beds from Groupon, but they do not last very long, although they are cheap so easily replaceable. We started using Kuranda elevated beds as they are much more durable and they have a guarantee. Here is the link to order Kuranda  beds if you would like one. https://dogbed.us/lilrhodylabs

CRATE TRAINING

We highly recommend crate training your puppy. It might seem that it is not necessary, but it is!

Plastic crates or wire crates

I recommend buying a large/Xlarge plastic crate or wire crate. Your puppy will use it for years, and it is a great investment. Eventually it will become their "safe haven" and will freely go into it when open. I would also not put "bedding" into the crate. An old towel will be fine, remember puppies chew, EVERYTHING! If left alone for long enough they will rip apart bedding inside the crate. Best bet is to wait til he/she is out of the chewing stage before putting soft bedding in the crate.

Supplements:

We use Glycoflex Classic tabs 600 mg with all of our dogs. These can be purchased at Chewy.com, Revival Animal health, and Amazon.

STIMULATION

Puppies LOVE to chew, especially your shoes. Purchase about 5 chew toys, and only give a couple at a time. Kong brand is amazing! Well worth the money as they last! Find out which one he/she likes the most, and buy a few more. Labs also love tennis balls. Fetch is a great way to bond and exercise him/her. (I usually buy tennis balls at walmart/target) Labs need daily exercise as well

 CALMING

Snuggle Puppy is an amazing product, especially for the first few nights. Along with Chillax by PawTree, and Rescue Remedy (Amazon)

BATHING

I use Lifes Abundance shampoo. Your puppy will get dirty while playing outdoors, it is part of owning a dog. But please do not overbathe your puppy. Once a month is sufficient! Bathing him/her too often will cause their skin to get dry, and itchy.

GROOMING

The great thing about labs is that they do not need to go to the groomers!! Once a month when we give our dogs a bath, we also clean their ears and brush their teeth. I can show you if you are not sure how to do either. But regular maintanence will keep your dog as healthy as possible.
